FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Ariell Johnson joins the Black Tribbles hairy hoard! On Thursday June 7th, Ariell Johnson will make her debut appearance on the Black Tribbles weekly radio program via PhillyCAM’s WPPM 106.5 FM and online at 9:00 pm.

Black Tribbles is a five-headed hairy hoard who tosses around everything sci-fi, comic books, movies, video games, cartoons and anything a geek would love.

Coming off their 7th year together, the Black Tribbles reached out to frequent guest, Ariell R. Johnson, about joining the show as a full time member. Johnson offers the podcast geeky knowledge and insight on a wide range of topics, from colorism in popular media to five reasons Wolverine and Storm of the X-Men belong with one another. After much consideration, Johnson decided the time was right to step into a platform where she could voice her many thoughts on the culture she loves and what better place than within the safe confines of her friends, the Black Tribbles.

Johnson is popularly known as the owner and founder of Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse, the renown comic book store and coffee shop hybrid located in the Kensington section of North Philadelphia. Johnson is the East Coast’s first Black female comic book store owner. Since its opening in 2015, the store has made a tremendous positive impact on its community, comic book authors and owners.

From Black Tribbles fangirl to Black Tribbles member, I feel like I’ve come full circle. I’m humbled and honored to be joining such an awesome crew of Blerds. This is going to be fun”, says Johnson who is elated to officially join the Black Tribble trove.

Johnson - who took on the Tribble designation 'Amalgam Tribble' during her first guest spot in 2014 - will join the Black Tribbles as a producer/co-host working beside creator/executive producer Len Webb aka The BatTribble, Kennedy Allen aka Storm Tribble, Erik Darden aka Master Tribble, Randy Green aka SuperTribble and Jason Richardson aka Spider-Tribble. Isaiah Luck aka Super-Saiyen Tribble will continue in his role as associate producer.

"Ariell's going to bring it HARD," says executive producer Len 'The BatTribble' Webb. "People are used to diplomatic people person Ariell Johnson in her store; they better get ready for the Krakken!"

"If you thought Tribble Nation was lit before, you better hold onto your butts!" -- says Kennedy Allen aka Storm Tribble.
